When Roopal reached out to me last year to capture her wedding day, I felt a rush of excitement. It was almost 14 years ago that I had the honour of shooting her sister’s wedding, and I was looking forward to reconnect with the family. This time, the celebration was set at the picturesque Fennes in Essex, a stunning Georgian manor house that provided the perfect backdrop for a day filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
The festivities began with the arrival of Hershil’s entourage, and what an entrance it was! Beat Evolution was on hand to provide the entertainment, filling the air with energy as flares lit up and the lively procession got underway. It was a vibrant, joyful start to what would be an extraordinary day.
One of the most touching moments of the day was Roopal’s entrance into the beautifully adorned mandap. Escorted by her siblings and uncle, it was a heartwarming scene that spoke volumes about the close-knit bond she shares with her family. The mandap, decorated by Sai Mandaps, was an elegant masterpiece that added a touch of grandeur to the venue. The ceremony itself was filled with genuine emotion, laughter, and love, all the elements that make wedding photography so rewarding. Every look, every smile, and every heartfelt gesture told a story, and I felt privileged to capture it all.
After the ceremony, we moved into a portrait session with the newlyweds, which was nothing short of magical. With the stunning backdrop of Fennes and the soft natural light of the afternoon, we were able to create some truly breathtaking images. Roopal and Hershil were a joy to work with —relaxed, radiant, and so in love. As the evening approached, the celebration moved to the reception, where the guests were greeted with canapés and drinks, all while a talented saxophonist played in the background, adding an elegant touch to the occasion. Before everyone was ushered into the marquee, we took a few more portraits to capture the last of the day’s light.
The evening’s entertainment began with fantastic dance performances by Roopal, Hershil, and their loved ones. The energy and joy in the room were palpable, making it one of the most exciting parts of the day to photograph. Every smile, every dance move, and every shared moment between the couple and their guests made for beautiful, dynamic images. During dinner, we took advantage of the golden hour. There’s something magical about this time of day, and Roopal and Hershil looked absolutely stunning in the soft, golden light. These portraits are some of my favourite images from the entire day.
From the vibrant start to the emotional ceremony, to the fun-filled reception and the golden hour portraits, Roopal and Hershil’s wedding was a joy to photograph from start to finish. Each moment was special, and I’m incredibly grateful to have been a part of their journey. Weddings like these are why I love what I do—capturing the love, the joy, and the memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.
